CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Sherlock Holmes
CANON: Elementary
AGE: 36
CANON POINT: Episode 3x01
BACKGROUND: Sherlock @ The Elementary Wiki
INCENTIVE:
Sherlock really sucks at asking for help and won't have any specific requests to start, but will consider the opportunity to study the city and its inhabitants as a fair trade. If he absolutely has to ask for a quantifiable reward, he'll just ask for a billion dollars. I plan to canon update him later, at which point he'll discuss more serious incentives with the representatives.
FIT:
Sherlock is extremely sensitive to issues of consent, so that won't be a problem. He's also very forward-thinking (or efficient??) regarding sexuality, and will have zero hang-ups on that front. He does run into trouble when it comes to emotional intimacy, and the way he approaches sex is a slightly flawed attempt to get around that — he acts like physical and emotional intimacy are totally separate, but he tends to engage in physical intimacy that caters to his emotional needs or issues (stuff that's super focused on trust exercises, etc). Basically Sherlock will have no problems adapting to Eudio and meeting his cuddle quota, but I fully intend to explore his compartmentalization and how it might be affected by lots of (potentially) healthy relationships.
SAMPLES:
Joan would be appalled.
Not by the city; the city's clean, charming, almost entirely crime-free. The city would leave her bored, surely, but she wouldn't have any real cause for complaint. Things she would complain about: Sherlock's flat. He thinks there's a certain rebellious art to the way he's let the dishes pile up in the kitchen and the way he's scattered printings of the local news all over the sitting room floor, but he doubts she'd think the same.
There's a comfort to it. Even without crime, there are still plenty of patterns. The questions on the network and the development of the Genesis Project, the city's (apparently growing) demand for power. But mostly, it's aesthetic: the worse his flat looks, the more it feels like home.
In theory. The worse it looks, the more apparent the lack of Joan also becomes. The silence makes the lack of Kitty apparent, too — so much so that he experiments with playing bad music at odd hours, just to see if he can reproduce that particular frustrating charm. Those experiments last three days; the flat's back to silence on the fourth, when Sherlock finally steps outside and squints at the sting of the sunlight.
Clyde rustles lightly in his coat pocket as he wrestles with the lettuce he's been tucked away with, and Sherlock tightens his scarf before slipping a hand into his coat to make sure Clyde's still somewhat upright.
"Time to go make some friends."
Friends, quotes implied. Clyde drags a dully clawed hand over his palm as he tries to flip himself over, clearly in agreement. Socializing isn't exactly Sherlock's best hobby, but he's got a quota to fill.
ANYTHING ELSE? He is going to bring a turtle named Clyde and a collection of ugly sweaters with him if that's ok!!
